Abba, in humble worship I come to You this day. Be Lord of my emotions, the Wisdom for my mind, and health for my body.

Let the promise of the Word lift me up. “He gives power to those who are tired and worn out; he offers strength to the weak. … But those who wait on the Lord will find new strength. They will fly high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.” (Isaiah 40:29-31, NLT)

Lord, the fragile nature of human life has been brought to the forefront of my mind by encounters with the sick, the broken, the elderly, and the dying. Oh, how I hope in You – the Healer, the Giver of Life Eternal. Renew my heart, strengthen my faith.

The noise of human conflict and strife fills this world. I pray for Your Kingdom to be revealed, that wicked men will not triumph. Keep me from anxious thoughts, comforted by the fact that You do hold all things in Your hands, that Your purpose can never be defeated. Though sin may seem to win the day, evil will not destroy those whose hope is in You.

May I walk in the Light and be a light this day.
