Abba, I stand in an unpleasant kind of wonder as I ponder the world in which I live. What about the future? There is so much noise all around.
The proud boast.
The fearful are warning of calamity.
My brothers offer opinions that they dress up in rags of their own certainty!

As I turn to You, I pray that I will know the assurance of which David sings. “You answer us with awesome deeds of righteousness, O God our Savior, the hope of all the ends of the earth and of the farthest seas, Who formed the mountains by Your power, having armed Yourself with strength, Who stilled the roaring of the seas, the roaring of their waves, and the turmoil of the nations.” (Psalm 65:5-7, NIV)

Jesus, You are our peace. In You we are granted grace and by the gift of the Spirit we are prepared to live effectively and joyfully. Help me to ‘keep step’ with You today, prepared to serve faithfully in the work of Your kingdom; loving, helping, encouraging, and a light in the dark places.

This is my desire that “the word of Christ (will) dwell in me richly as (I) teach and admonish (others) with all wisdom, and as (I) sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in (my) heart to God.” (Colossians 3:16, NIV)

In the Holy Name of Jesus, I ask these things. Amen
