Abba, You are the strength of my life! I lean on You today so that I will live in steady hope and unfailing courage. Teach, Spirit of God, to anchor myself in Eternity and thus live the best life here in this temporal world.

Lord Jesus, I need You to be my ‘Good Shepherd,’ guiding, protecting, leading. You said that “My sheep recognize my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one will snatch them away from me.” (John 10:27-28, NLT) Help me to listen well that I may live as You desire.

I remember those whose lives are torn apart by war. Move mightily on the powerful. Move them to seek peace, to desire to preserve life. Still the demonic voices that lead to violence and death.

Provide comfort and hope for those who mourn.
Give sustenance to those who hunger.
Grant peace to those who are troubled and fearful.
Call those who are wandering and lost to the Way of Life Everlasting.

In the words of an ancient prayer, I ask You to
“make me an instrument of your peace.
grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.”  (St. Francis)
