Abba, I join the Psalmist to say – You “are supreme over all the earth …” and the Word reminds me that Your “light shines on the godly, and joy on those whose hearts are right.” (Psalm 97) Strengthen my grasp on those statements so that faith will increase and hope will deepen.
Lord, so much violence fills this world. My soul is wearied by it, and I am tempted to seek solace in diversions and distractions. Fill my mind, Spirit of God, with assurances that You reign, that Your purpose will stand. Let Your Presence be like a refreshing rain on dry ground, renewing life and love in me.
This word sustains me – that “those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary.” (Isaiah 40)
Christ Jesus, You are my salvation. I am ever so thankful that You welcome me as a son and give “Life to the full.” Keep me in Your love. Let me know, by faith, that I am secure and that nothing – not demon, not doubt, not disease, nor even death itself – can rob me of my place in Your home.
Help me to be grace-filled toward others today, a light-bearer, and a bringer of hope.
In Your holy Name, I pray. Amen.
