Abba, renew my devotion today. Spirit of God whisper to my mind and heart of Your plans and purposes even as You remind me in a hundred ways that the Lord of the Universe loves me.

Life is full of distractions that diminish my awareness of Your Presence and push my pursuit of Your will to the side. Call me back to Your love, refocused in purpose, renewed in hope. Help me to remember that I am an eternal being, more than this flesh and blood that demands so much of my attention. Gently lead me so that I will ‘keep in step with the Spirit’ Who guides me to truth and life.

Father, the folly of war continues to destroy nations and lives; bombs dropping, missiles flying. Earnestly I pray for those who hold the keys to peace that they will turn from hatred and hostility. I pray for those who are in places of poverty and/or hunger that they will be fed. Make those of us who enjoy plenty generous and compassionate.

My life rests on Your grace. May this Word be my benediction today that “out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith.” (Ephesians 3)
