Abba, my heart reaches out to You for renewed hope and strength today.
Jesus, it is one of those days when sorrows hang like a dark cloud.
May Your Spirit speak peace, hold us near, and remind us of tomorrow’s sunshine.

Lord, You know sorrow too. You spoke of being “overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death.”  You were steady in Your commitment to the will of Your Father. Help me to remain steadfast, too.

With David, I pray “Hear my cry, O God; listen to my prayer. From the ends of the earth I call to you, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I.” (Psalm 61)

With open hands and an open heart, I come to Your Presence.
You have been my comfort in the past.
You are my Rock for the present.
You are my hope for all my tomorrows.

This is my confession – “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.” (2 Corinthians 1)

With faith, I pray for grace through Christ Jesus.  Amen.
