Abba, thank You for Springtime, a reminder that life persists through dark and cold days. I worship You for keeping me through many times of darkness, sorrow, and disappointment, new opportunities, and hope.

This world needs You to make things ‘new,’ stirring a new desire for You, for Your ways. Isaiah records Your promise “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” (43:18) Let us experience a true renewal of heart and mind, drawn back to the Way in which You desire for us.

I confess my own spiritual apathy, the chill that creeps over me in soul and mind. Let me know the fire of the Spirit anew, a passion for justice, for truth, knowing the ways of real love and true peace. Forgive me, Jesus, for allowing myself to go through the motions of religion. Keep me “having a form of godliness but denying its power.” (2 Timothy 3)

Preserve me from mere sentimental religion, choosing instead a robust relationship with You that owns every part of me – heart, soul, mind, and strength.

This is my confession today – “Those who look to Him for help will be radiant with joy; no shadow of shame will darken their faces. In my desperation I prayed, and the Lord listened;
He saved me from all my troubles. … Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in Him!”
(Psalm 34)
Lead me in the Way everlasting. Let me bring honor and praise to You.

In Jesus’ Holy Name, I pray. Amen.
