Abba, You are the Strength of my life, the Hope for my future, the Source of all I need. Be near to me today. The noisy world I live in is full of distractions, temptations, and sorrow. Steady me and hold me in Your hands.

As the violence of war spreads, I feel great sorrow for the millions who suffer, who live in fear today. I pray that evil will be defeated and peace restored. Spirit of God, move the hearts and minds of those who hold the controls of the machines of war. Keep them from foolish pride, from bloodlust, and desperation. Still the winds of war, I pray.

I pray for those who mourn this day, that they would find the comfort of the Spirit.

I pray for Your Church, that we will be faithful to our call to be “Christ’s ambassadors.” Remind of that we are to “speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!”   (2 Corinthians 5) Grant us both compassion and courage, gently loving those who are weighed down and fearless to challenge sin and evil in ourselves and our world!

Gratefully I acknowledge “the generous grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. Though he was rich, yet for (my) sake He became poor, so that by His poverty he could make (me) rich.”  (2 Corinthians 8) So, let me live in the richness of Your grace, overflowing with grace and goodness today so that the Light of Jesus will shine brightly through me.
