Abba, at the start of this new day, I come to You first, recognizing again that You are the loving Lord of all, the Giver of life, and the Hope of humanity. I humbly confess my reliance on Your goodness and grace, grateful that my life is held in Your hands.

Help me respond quickly to Your leading today—ready to care, to love, and to serve without hesitation or self-concern. Make me faithful to the call to be the hands and heart of Jesus in this broken world where I live.

Lead me, Spirit of God, into gentleness, living as Jesus did, of whom it was said:
“He will not quarrel or cry out; no one will hear his voice in the streets. A bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out, till he has brought justice through to victory. In his name the nations will put their hope.” (Matthew 12)

Let me live with hope in Your coming Kingdom, confident that no matter how evil may seem to triumph, You will reign. Sin and death will ultimately be defeated when You come again. Help me rise above discouragement and keep my eyes fixed on the goal of eternal life.
