Abba, ‘for the beauty of the earth’ I praise You. The sunshine outside of my window is a reminder that even in the chill of Winter, there is the promise of the renewal ahead. Remind me, Lord, that when my life is dark, my emotions tumultuous, that in YOU I find all I need. Shine the Light of Your love like the bright sun into my world today.

I pray for those who live so much more desperately than I have ever have – with revolution, in time of persecution, in fear of the tyrannies of oppressive government policies – that they would find Hope and experience Your provision. Comfort those who mourn. Sustain those on the edge of life.

Holy Spirit, awaken a genuine compassion in Your people. Keep us from the deceptions that are fed to us by those more interested in power and position than in humanity and life. May our words about being ‘pro-life’ extend to all of life – advocates for justice, messengers of the Good News of Your grace that makes us Your heirs – of ALL good things.

Jesus help me to live Your challenge – “Walk in the light while you can, so the darkness will not overtake you. Those who walk in the darkness cannot see where they are going. Put your trust in the light while there is still time; then you will become children of the light.” (John 12)

Shine in me, I pray. Amen.
