Abba, grant the gift of ‘peace that passes human understanding’ this day. Through the Spirit’s work in us, lead us to greater faith, to rest on You, the Rock in times when the ground is like shifting sand.
Lord, come to us with new grace, with fresh love, with faith made alive, so that we will not be overwhelmed by the sorrows and troubles that are so much a part of this human experience. Help us to see the joy that is found in loving, the meaning found in Your promise of the “kingdom come” and eternal life that is ours through Christ Jesus.
I hold to this Word today. May it be living truth. Be in me and through me a
“comfort all who mourn, the consolation of those who mourn in Zion.
Give beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; (so) we will be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.” (Isaiah 61)
In the Holy Name of Jesus, I pray. Amen
