Abba, I am here before You, listening, ready to hear the ‘still, small voice’ of the Spirit as He leads me into this day.
Grant me the wisdom to let go of yesterday into Your hands protected from regret and longing for what once was. Keep me from becoming a captive of tomorrow, thinking only of ‘what might be.’ I want to “Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days.” Help me not to “act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants (me) to do.” (Ephesians 5)
You promise enough – to provide all that I need, though not necessarily all I want. Lead me in the way of contentment, which accepts this day from Your hands, along with every provision required.
Lord, cruelty walks our streets and fills the halls of our government. Selfishness and pride are the order of the day. Raise, in us Your people, a witness to humility and true service. Let the light of Jesus’ Love shine brightly, reflected through us. Defeat the schemes of evil people. Grant success in peace and holiness.
In the holy Name of Jesus. Amen
