Abba, You have been my guide and keeper through all my days. I worship You.
Keep me focused on the joy in the journey, willing to walk in humble surrender to Your leading. Let me hold onto the “living hope (that is mine) through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead … (and that) inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade.” (1 Peter 1)
Give me eyes of faith that see beyond the ‘light and momentary’ trials of the day so that I will not trade eternity’s promises for a temporary moment of happiness. Let me live so that You are honored in my words and ways.
This noisy world is filled with the proud, those who celebrate when others suffer, who willingly trample the poor and the weak. Help me to be an advocate for people in need, caring for all without regard to thanks or recognition. Teach me to love like Jesus did, gentle, kind, and forgiving.
I worship You for the promise of –
Your “comfort all who mourn,
(that you will) provide for those who grieve in Zion—
to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes,
the oil of joy instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise
instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness,
a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor.”
(Isaiah 61)
My life is in Your hands so let me live it fully for Your glory.
In the holy name of Jesus. Amen.
