Abba,
As I gaze upon the sunlight dancing on leaves touched with yellow, I am reminded of the ever-changing seasons of life. Yet through every change, Your love and grace sustain me, day by day. “Great is Thy faithfulness, O God, my Father!”
Lord, grant me a gentle spirit today—let my thoughts and words be filled with grace. In a world where rhetoric is harsh and condemning, where the sacredness of life is diminished by greed, power, and efficiency, may I live differently.
Spirit of God, remind me that I am sent to serve. Help me to embrace the words of my Savior: “Whoever welcomes this little child in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me. For it is the one who is least among you all who is the greatest.”
I lift before You those entrusted with authority in our nation. Grant them wisdom to face the difficult challenges before them. Teach them to unite leadership with compassion and to remember that their calling is a holy trust—to care for all, especially the poor, the weak, and the suffering.
This day, O Jesus, I pray as You taught: “Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”
Shine Your light into the world through me. Amen.
